After Care - Cosmetic Tattoo

Follow Instructions Below for your After Care to Ensure Best Results

Be prepared that the intensity of your procedure will be considerably sharper, darker and more intense than what is expected for the final result. It will take time to heal and this varies between each client.

Keep the area clean. Use tepid water, a clean face washer and anti-bacterial soap if desired and gently dab the area, DO NOT rub. Gently pat dry with a clean towel. Do not use the same towels or anti-bacterial soap on any other part of your body as this may cause infection.

DO NOT apply cleansers, face creams, soaps or detergents on your healing skin as these products may contain ingredients that can be harmful to your healing tattoo.

Apply ‘Bepanthen First Aid’ cream every couple of hours in the first few days and at least 4 times a day, or more, over the following 7 to 10 days. Keep the area moist.

Apply a quality lip balm for all Lip Procedures, every hour, or as needed, for at least 7 to 10 days or until healed and keep the area moist. No lipstick during the healing period.

DO NOT pick, peel or scratch your healing skin as you may cause uneven healing of colour and you may risk infection or scarring.

DO NOT expose your healing skin to direct sunlight, hot water, salt water, pool water, tanning beds, sauna’s or steam rooms and spas for at least 7 to 10 days following your procedure as you may risk infection, scarring and/or colour fade out.

DO NOT wear contact lenses during or immediately following your Eyeliner Procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. Use a clean cotton bud to gently apply ‘Bepanthen First Aid’ cream to your eyeliner and keep the area moist.

If you have a history of Cold Sores/Herpes, and as advised in your Pre Procedure Information, you undertook a course of anti-viral cold sore medication prior to your procedure. Please continue with your cold sore medication for another 5 days to inhibit an outbreak. Cold sores can fade out colour.

Your skin can take several months to heal completely so protect your tattoo with sunscreen everyday, preferably with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide 50+.

If you have any concerns about your tattoo please contact Sonya.

After Care - Body Art

Follow The Instructions Below to Achieve the Best Results

For your ‘After Care’ you will require: Bepanthen First Aid Cream, anti-bacterial soap, clean wash cloth, clean towel, Glad Wrap, medical tape to secure Glad Wrap and bring a towel to protect your car seat.

On completion of your body tattoo, Sonya will apply a dressing to protect your healing tattoo.

Please do not touch or remove your dressing and allow your tattoo to settle down for approximately 1 hour.

DO NOT leave the dressing on your tattoo for more than 3 hours.

When it’s time to remove the dressing and if the tattoo is small, please use a clean face cloth washer, anti-bacterial soap with tepid water and gently wash the wound until clean.

If you plan to shower, please keep the dressing on whilst you shower, as this will allow the wound to adjust to the water temperature and protect your healing tattoo from products such as shampoo and conditioner which may be harmful to your wound. These products may contain harmful ingredients such as sodium, laureth and sulphates. Once you have showered, then remove the dressing and gently clean your tattoo with a clean face cloth washer, anti-bacterial soap and tepid water.

DO NOT use the anti-bacterial soap and face washer on any other part of your body as you can infect your tattoo.

Gently pat dry with a clean dry towel and apply ‘Bepanthen First Aid’ cream liberally.

Please note: Bepanthen can stain your clothing and upholstery so cover your sofa, car seat etc., with a towel.

You must keep your tattoo moist for at least 7 days and apply ‘Bepanthen First Aid’ regularly throughout the day.

DO NOT let your tattoo dry out as it will scab and this may draw out the colour, leaving patches in the tattoo.

The first 2 nights before bed, clean the tattoo and apply Bepanthen as advised above and wrap your tattoo in Glad Wrap and secure with medical tape to protect your tattoo and bedding from stains. DO NOT use sticky tape.

DO NOT pick, peel or scratch your healing skin as you may cause uneven healing of colour and you may risk infection and scarring.

DO NOT expose your healing skin to direct sunlight, hot water, salt water, pool water, tanning beds, sauna’s, steam rooms, spas or baths for at least 7 days. You may risk infection, scarring or fade out of your tattoo.

DO NOT shave your healing skin.

DO NOT wear tight clothing over your healing skin.

With feet tattoos, it is important to get as much fresh air as possible for the first few days. Elevate your feet to aid swelling reduction.

Allow 4 to 6 weeks for your tattoo to heal completely. A Follow Up Treatment is complimentary to perfect your tattoo and is free of charge on the condition that it is booked and undertaken within 90 days of your Initial Tattoo Procedure.

If you have any issues or concerns please contact Sonya.
